For sale, a unique and well-loved 2001MY 'X' Jaguar XKR 4.0 Coupe in rare, beautiful Mistral Blue with a superb, clean ivory full-leather interior, owned by a fastidious member of the XK Enthusiast's Club (XKEC).
The car is 2001MY R-Performance spec which means it comes with some highly desirable additional items in comparison to older cars (such as the more modern jewel-effect tail lamps, new -shape electric adjustable seats with electric headrests and the Active Restraint Technology System to name but a few) and is also one of the last cheap V8s to tax, at only £255 for 12 months/£140 for 6 months!
I am the third owner of this car since I purchased it from Chiltern of Bovingdon in October 2007, after a long search for a good one. As my wife will tell you, I have spent a LOT of time and money on it since then! While I would love to keep it, we are looking to replace our family car soon, so sadly and with a heavy heart, I think it is probably time for someone else to enjoy it...
It has recently had around £3000 spent on getting it ready for sale and it comes fully serviced, with a long MOT, 4 new quality tyres, Hunter 4-wheel alignment, new headlining, new front and rear brakes inc handbrake, ice cold aircon and a dyno printoff. The paintwork and full leather interior is in excellent condition for its age. It currently has just over 108,000 genuine miles on the clock, which is low for its age (especially so, for a well-maintained big V8). I can also provide a detailed Service History in addition to the usual stamps, as well as several 'bonus' extras (owner DVD, spare key/plip etc).
In addition to all of the above, over the long period of my ownership it has been systematically maintained and improved, with only 'OEM or better' spec parts fitted; it is currently producing over 400BHP according to a recent dyno-run (was 370BHP stock, so +10%)! I have included the dyno printoff in the pics, showing the power output at the rear wheels. Factored for temperature (20 deg+) and automatic transmission losses, it works out well over 400BHP - search google for "Wheel Horsepower to Crankshaft Horsepower Guestimator" and enter '337' at the rear wheels for an approximation (won't let me post direct links). The engine/tuning work, as well as many of the other mechanical improvements and maintenance, were carried out by the well-respected UK Jaguar specialist, TL Jaguar.
To go along with the performance improvements, it also sounds amazing, with a '1/3 system' full-stainless JEC exhaust (over axle and rear silencers removed) giving a lovely V8 burble at idle and a mighty V8 roar under full power!
Externally the car is standard, other than the wheels (which are genuine Jaguar too), as I don't believe in messing with such a classic shape. It is guaranteed to turn heads wherever it goes, although Im afraid youll have to get used to allowing extra time at the petrol pump or car park to talk to people about it!
In terms of upgrades, it has already had metal timing chains fitted, as well as the following items:
Chrome instrument rings and gear surround
HID headlights - dipped beam (improves on rubbish standard lights)
Switchable power steering (2-setting low/high-speed adjustment)
Radio aerial disable switch
RealGauge water temperature gauge (actual water temperature vs Jaguar lies!)

Fully serviced all engine fluids (oil/brake/coolant)

As you can see from the above, this is a superbly-maintained, much-loved, turn-key car that you can drive and run straight away and it is priced according to its unique specification and excellent condition. With these cars heading rapidly towards classic status, purchase values are only going to increase for good ones like mine! Fortunately however, sites like the excellent British Parts, along with reputable independent specialists, can make owning and maintaining these cars achievable on a reasonable budget.
I guarantee you WILL NOT find another one in the country like this (beware cheaper ones on Autotrader/EBay etc, they may hide expensive problems!)... Please enquire today, as it won't be around for long!
